A lakeside wedding at Liuna Gardens

I've known Melissa and Jimbo for a while now. My first session with them was booked as a family session. The day before our session Jimbo called me to inform me of his master plan. He had just received Melissa's grandmother's wedding ring, and wanted to propose during our shoot. I'm not the best at keeping secrets, but I managed to remain calm. It was beautiful to watch and capture this special moment in their lives.

As a photographer it is your job to share at people and capture them when they look best.

Since their engagement shoot I had the chance to work with Melissa and Jimbo a few times, and it is easy to see that they are with the person they are meant to be with. A week before the wedding Melissa messaged me to let me know that she broke her, and had to wear a cast for her wedding day. Most people would be devastated and let it get to them, but Melissa seemed too excited to finally call Jimbo her husband to notice.

I've seen brides stress out about less. For me it is those who accept what they can't change, and make the most of it that have the most enjoyable weddings.

One the wedding day I first met up with Jimbo and Melissa as they arrived back at their hotel about to get ready for their special day.

They then took the limo to Liuna Gardens which is located in Stoney Creek overlooking Lake Ontario. This was my first time shooting here, but I loved it. I love having a wedding in one location that way we don't have to spend the day driving around, and everything is in one place.

The ceremony overlooked the lake. I love outdoor ceremonies because it's easier to move around to get as many different angles as I can.

After the ceremony it rained and everyone rushed inside to stay dry. Luckily the rain didn't last long, and we were able to get photos done outside.

The reception was well planned with many speeches, giggles, some tears, and even a game.

I wish you two all the best, and am honoured to have been the one to capture your special day.
